I have no idea what the video is saying, but I doubt it’s “My my name is Franz and my shrink says that I am A-OK!”

Merckx’s nickname ‘The Cannibal’ is going to give the headline writers all kinds of fun when this ‘superfan’ eventually cracks… I don’t want to scare you Eddy but you know that at some point you are going to wake up hog-tied  in a damp basement, looking up at this guy as he sharpens his skinning knife…

Saying that….I am very jealous of his jersey and memorabilia collection…

On the subject of Merckx, I have just finished reading Daniel Friebe’s excellent biography of the great man. It was a good. Hopefully I’ll get around to writing a proper review of it this week.
